I knew these two girls,
Like night and day,
One would hide from the world,
The other would always have something to say.
One girl had fear,
Buried inside,
A messy past leered,
Which she struggled to hide.
The next was carefree,
Her emotions shared and spent,
Her thoughts tumbling, she
Laughed and gasped wherever she went.
One girl hid her face,
Behind hair with gold sheen,
Embarrassed; ashamed,
Of what those eyes had seen.
One twisted her locks,
Into intricate braids,
She’d saunter and walk,
As she mixed in the shades.
Yes, they were different,
One night and one day,
But it wasn’t their interests,
That made them this way.
One shone like the sun,
One hid back and sighed,
We label one “fun,”
The other one “shy.”
